Hole #2 continues this course's path along Lake William and adjacent the 0.6 mile Barboursville Park path. This was a design consideration that allows casual player to join in and depart easily from any hole, and allowing parents walking the track to keep an eye on their kids. Both tees begin under separate trees, and drop moderately at the end of the run. Like hole #1, the basket for hole #2 is close to the woods and the train tracks. Just in front of the basket is perhaps the single wettest spot on this course when it's been raining -- wetter than even the deeply-rutted wooded holes #4 and #5, which are next to the river. Your second throw -- or a brilliant drive -- can put you in six inches of standing water. Be prepared to find a stick to fetch your disc if this happens. And loose sticks, we will add, are hard to find in this well-maintained park.
Hole #2's long tees is a 338 par 3 with a 9 foot drop to the basket. The tree under which you tee off is unlikely to hinder your throw, particularly if you're a right-handed thrower, but the tree over the short tees 90 feet ahead may very well interfere with your drive depending on the arc of your throw. If you're a lefty, then, well, good luck bubba.
